225.31 Disconnecting Means
N-New Material
(A) General. Means shall be provided for disconnecting all ungrounded conductors that supply or pass through the building or structure.
(B) Location. The disconnecting means shall be installed either inside or outside of the building or structure served or where the conductors pass through the building or structure. The disconnecting means shall be at a readily accessible location nearest the point of entrance for the conductors. for the purpose of this section, the requirements in 230.6 shall apply.
Article 100-Definitions
Accessible, Readily Accessible. Capable of being reached quickly for operation, renewal, or inspections without requiring those to whom ready access is requisite to take actions, such as to use tools (other than keys), to climb over or under, to remove obstacles, or to resort to portable ladders, and so forth.
