Scripture: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." — Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
In our walk with God, there are moments when we feel “akon”—unwilling to yield to His will. Whether it’s due to fear, uncertainty, or a desire to control our circumstances, our hearts can resist the path God is calling us to follow. This unwillingness creates a struggle within us, a tension between what we want and what God desires for our lives.
At the same time, life has its moments of “uts”—where we feel pressed, overwhelmed, or burdened by the challenges before us. It is often in these moments of being pressed that God invites us to let go of our unwillingness and trust His greater plan.
Like clay in the hands of the potter, we are molded by God’s hands in moments of “uts.” The pressing is not meant to harm us, but to shape us into the image He desires. When we surrender our “akon,” our resistance, to His will, we find that the pressing moments lead to growth, transformation, and deeper faith.
Reflection: Is there an area in your life where you are feeling “akon”—unwilling to follow God’s direction? How are you experiencing “uts”—the pressures of life—and how might God be using them to mold you?
Prayer: Lord, I confess that at times I am “akon,” unwilling to fully surrender to Your will. But I know that You have good plans for me, even when I feel “uts,” pressed by the weight of life. Help me to trust that You are working for my good and to surrender to Your guiding hand. Amen.
